According to Dynamic Logic, Blip.tv viewers are watching more online video and less television compared to six months ago. While they aren’t cutting the cord entirely, they are cord shaving: watching nearly 9 per cent less cable television, while increasing their viewing of content on a PC by 26 per cent. Viewers also report spending 19 per cent more time watching video content on a mobile device than six months ago and 18 per cent more time viewing video on game consoles.

Skype Now Includes Video Calls on Mobile

After Skype’s aquisition of Qik the mobile video company they have now launched a new iPhone app at SXSW which now makes it really easy for people to connect anywhere anytime.

“It enables various ways for friends and family to connect,” he said. The app allows users to place live video calls with two-way chat. In addition, the app has a social element since it lets users instantly capture videos and share them on sites such as Facebook. It also includes a live feed so that users can see what videos their friends have been posting.”
